Karen and Sarah Josephson 1992 Olympic Gold Medalists, 1988 Olympic Silver Medalists

Best known around the world for their spinning, Karen and Sarah Josephson of the USA, the J’s, won the gold medal at the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona. This video of their 1992 performance includes many sections underwater that show sculling techniques and transitions. Notice how the underwater transitions are almost always identical and that most of the sculling, kicking and eggbeater is even synchronized. Their routine was choreographed to a variety of American composed music and written to highlight their strengths. It includes the J’s signature entry- a front walkover into the pool, numerous spins in varying positions, 4 consecutive split rockets, variations in tempo, quick underwater transitions, an innovative connected figure, etc.
